Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Gotham .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Gotham Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

    Title or Location: Home Yard
I setup bird feeders at home including a hummingbird feeder. They are super active and are use to me being close to them so I grabbed my Canon R5 with my Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens and placed myself within 8 feet from the feeder rendering great closeup shots while they feed and the late afternoon sun gives this Rufous hummingbird that beautiful glow

My second visit to this fantastic place. Unlike the first time in May there were plenty of puffins during the day as they were feeding the pufflings.

I attended the Intro to Astrophotography class on September 28th. I used some old equipment by today's standard.Equipment and settings: Canon 300D18-55mm kit lensFocal Length - 18mmShutter Speed - 30 secondsAperture - f/3.5ISO - 1600In post-processing, I raised the exposure, applied less contrast, raised the highlights and whites, increased texture and clarity, and used dehaze and denoise to remove a lot of the noise present with older entry-level gear.

    Title or Location: Corby
These Waxwings were in Corby for a while in January of this year, right on the edge of a housing estate. They seemed totally oblivious that we were there. The light was perfect, mid morning. The Rowan trees were on a steep bank which made for no background distractions .Taken with Canon r6, Canon 100-400mm l series 11 lens with 1. 4 extender,

In Chatham County on Jordan Lake. Four osprey were hunting hard. I was watching one waiting for it to dive. This ospsrey hit one at the same time off to my left. I was able to pivot and got this pic . I used a Sony A1 200-600 zoom and 1.4 teleconverter.

Title or Location: My back garden
It was taken in the evening on one of my walks around the garden. I always take my camera or phone. I quite liked the romance of the shot.
